Happy weekend everyone. I hope you are all gearing up for the big game this afternoon! Go Pats!!! It was a great Saturday to work around the house. Leaves, leaves, and more leaves.
This week we will begin Wonders Unit 2 week 2. Our genre will be Historical Fiction. The new spelling words are posted on the spelling page. In math we continue to work on multi-step multiplication problems. We are also practicing our addition and subtraction facts. On Thursday, we will have our Halloween parade and party. The parade will begin at 1:00 and when we get back to school we will have our treats. Thank you everyone who signed up to bring in the goodies. I will be sending a permission slip home with the kids this week so we will be able to watch "The Witches" as a class. "The Witches" is a classic written by my favorite author, Roald Dahl and the movie follows the book very closely. The kids just love the story and as a Halloween treat and a reward for doing so well at the Michaelmas Fair, I promised we could watch it. Most of the kids have already viewed the movie trailer at home. They are very excited. On Halloween night, the whole class is invited to my house. You can stop by any time during Trick or Treat hours. The kids homework will be to find my house by using a map (or GPS) ha ha. We will have chili, cider, and doughnuts. The kids will get a nice bag of treats also. Just be careful in the driveway. It is long and dark. Our house is off the beaten path and I get it if some of you can't make it. At the end of the week we will be preparing for our Native American month. The kids will be divided into different Native American groups. They will have an Indian name, and they will be responsible for a project that will be done at home. Our class will have our projects on display for other classes to view at the end of the month. Also, our field trip to the Kearsage Indian Museum will take place on the 22nd of November. I will let you know more about the project the first week of November. We will be discussing project ideas in class. Have a great week everyone. Comments are closed.

I Believe...Let the kids be kids. Every child has a strength. It is up to the teacher to find it or tap it so they can work to their highest potential. I tend to set the bar very high. Lifetime memories should be made in the classroom and at school. NBCS should be a place where kids enter happy and go home with a smile on their face. I want my kids getting up in the morning begging to go to school! Archives
