I hope everyone had a great weekend. I am enjoying our company from New York. It was fun celebrating my nephew Chris's birthday and Uncle Bill's birthday. Tonight we will top it off with an Italian feast.
Thank you everyone who contributed to the Valentine's party. The sundaes were delicious and the kids had a blast.
Jumping rope for the Heart Association was also fun. Thank you to all who contributed to this great cause.
We have one more week to get through and then we will have a well deserved vacation.
The class had a great time with their buddies at the Historical Society. We learned a lot about the day in the life of a first and third grader in the 1800's. The kids were shown plenty of interesting items and they heard lots of good stories.

We are trying to line up a field trip to the Historical Society with our first grade buddies. We will let you know the date and time. This has become a tradition for us.
Our Valentine Party will be on the 14th in the afternoon. I think the kids would like to do ice cream sundaes with all of the toppings. The room moms will let you know what to sign up for. I will send home a class list this week for spelling first names.
Please don't forget the Jump Rope For Heart drive. That will take place on the 14th in the morning. It is a great cause.
We are enjoying our read a loud "James and The Giant Peach". The kids love Roald Dahl books.
We have learned to use a map scale this week. We have measured distances all over the United States.
Have a great week everyone. Stay healthy.
Let the kids be kids. Every child has a strength. It is up to the teacher to find it or tap it so they can work to their highest potential. I tend to set the bar very high. Lifetime memories should be made in the classroom and at school. NBCS should be a place where kids enter happy and go home with a smile on their face. I want my kids getting up in the morning begging to go to school!
