Good morning all. I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful Sunday. Looks like pool weather to me.
Sad to say, only 2 and a half more days. Where did the time go? On Monday we will be finishing up our whale reports. The kids did some excellent researching on Friday. Then, after we are finished, we will share out our reports. If anyone is ever interested in a whale watch over the summer, Newburyport, MA is the place to go. Captain Chris will take good care of you. August is a perfect month for whale watching. You can get all of the info on their site. Tuesday is our pizza party and the celebration of all the summer birthdays. Also, we will get to meet our "Godparents" finally. Everyone is so excited. Wednesday, we will pack up the room and say our goodbyes. Always a sad day, but we are all ready for summer vacation. It has been a pleasure being with all of your kids this year. Despite all of the challenges, we made it through. The kids have all grown in so many ways. You can all be very proud. I know I am. Have a great rest of the weekend, and a wonderful summer. Holy heat wave !!!!!! I hope everyone is near the water or an ac this afternoon. We just took our company from Texas to the airport and it was 98 degrees in Manchester! It will be very hot on Monday, but we have beautiful ac in our classroom. We also have lots of water.
This week will be a very different week for us. On Tuesday the kids will be home doing their work. The gym will be set up for voting day and that is where I will be. I told the kids I will give them their usual Tuesday work, and they can break it up just as we do the school day. Make sure they take snack breaks and recess breaks. Our recess in the morning is 9:30 to 9:45. Snack is from 9:50 to 10:05. Lunch is 12:15 to 12:35 followed by recess until 1:00. It is going to be very hot also. The art teacher will also have something for them since it is an art day. Art period is from 8:30 to 9:20. On Thursday, we will be having Field Day. Hopefully it will cool down a little by then. The kids worked very hard on their Aimsweb tests and it paid off. I was very pleased and proud of them. Their state presentations were amazing. They have learned so much about the states in general. Our spelling words are different this week. We will not have a spelling test on Friday, but we will work with our words all week. We will take our last unit math test this week and finish up our last Wonders unit. We are enjoying the first Narnia book in the series. The Lion, Witch and Wardrobe. Have a great rest of the weekend. Stay cool. |
I Believe...Let the kids be kids. Every child has a strength. It is up to the teacher to find it or tap it so they can work to their highest potential. I tend to set the bar very high. Lifetime memories should be made in the classroom and at school. NBCS should be a place where kids enter happy and go home with a smile on their face. I want my kids getting up in the morning begging to go to school! Archives
