Dear New Third Graders, (class of 2019-2020)
Welcome to Mr. Mudrick's third grade family. Please enjoy the rest of your summer. It is flying by too fast. In September, you will begin an exciting adventure leading to a fun packed year of learning and growing. We will start off the year getting to know one another. We will be a family of 24 and we will spend 180 days together. Our first big project will be the Michaelmas Fair in October. You can start thinking about the crafts you will be making to sell at the fair. We will make crafts and baked goods to sell to the rest of the school, friends and family. The fair is an annual third grade tradition and it is a big hit. In November, we will study Native Americans and go to an Indian Museum. We will learn all about the presidents, travel through all the states, and go on an exciting whale watch. We will celebrate birthdays, take part in all of the holidays, work on our multiplication tables and read some wonderful books together. Our theme for the year will be, "Be Kind To Everyone." Remember, try to pick up a durable folder for bringing homework and important papers back and forth to school and home. You may get pencils, erasers, red or green correcting pens and a small pencil case. Don't forget to save some memories from summer and bring them to school to share. I can't wait to hear about all of your exciting summer adventures! Have a good rest of your vacation. Get ready for a fun and exciting year in third grade. I will be in our classroom on Thursday the 29th in the afternoon if anyone would like to stop in for a visit. I can't wait to see all of your smiling faces! Your new teacher, Mr. Mudrick |
I Believe...Let the kids be kids. Every child has a strength. It is up to the teacher to find it or tap it so they can work to their highest potential. I tend to set the bar very high. Lifetime memories should be made in the classroom and at school. NBCS should be a place where kids enter happy and go home with a smile on their face. I want my kids getting up in the morning begging to go to school! Archives
