Good Sunday evening everyone. Watching the Patriot's game. Just not the same team anymore! Oh well at least it is football.
We will begin the week with gym on Monday and Tuesday. In Wonders, we will begin unit 2 week 2. Keep up the reading at home and keep those reading counts going. In Everyday Math, we will continue with Unit 2. Please have the kids study their 2's and 5's multiplication tables. We will celebrate Halloween in both cohorts on Wednesday and Thursday. The drive-by parade will begin at 9:45. Follow the same rules as morning drop-off. The kids may wear their costumes to school. If they are going to change at school, please make sure they can handle putting on their own costume. I'm sorry, but we can't have any room moms or dads in the building. I have all of the goodies that the kids asked for their party. Everything is individually wrapped. I will wait and get the DD doughnuts on the days of the parties. For drinks, I have water, cider and juice boxes. For food, we have chips, cheese and crackers, candy corn and doughnuts. This is what the kids wanted! If anyone wants to make a donation to the party, please let me know. The parties will be at 1:00. I will be at my house for Trick or Treat on Saturday evening. I have some very special treats for my class only. I usually have a class party at my house, but with the Covid, I just can't chance it. I will be set up on the screen porch. I will give the kids a map. For GPS's, I am at 158B Lull Rd. You can't see my house from the road. I will have a balloon tied to the pole at the beginning of the driveway. There is also a sign that says...New Boston Strong. It says 158 on the flower box. Come into the tarred part of the drive, then turn right on the dirt part and come up the long driveway. We are a tan house with cranberry shutters. Halloween decorations everywhere! The kids continue to do a great job in school. They are very diligent about following the rules and they remain positive and enthusiastic. Their work that is done at home is always exceptional and always turned in on time. Have a great week everyone. I will see you at the parades. Happy weekend everyone. I hope you are all having a great weekend. Enjoy the nice weather today. We have frost up here on the Mud Hill.
On Monday and Tuesday we will be having gym, and also picture day. All of the kids will have their picture taken. Hopefully we will be able to go outside for gym and pictures. In Wonders this week we will be starting Unit 2 week one. The spelling words are posted on the spelling page on the class website. In math, we will be taking our unit one math test. The kids should be well prepared. We are working out the plans for a Halloween parade and small party on the 28th and 29th. I will let you know more when all plans are confirmed. Remember costumes for school should be school appropriate. Food for the party will have to be individually wrapped items from a store. No baked goods from home will be allowed. We will get very creative. I will see everyone this week. Please remember your work and your spelling test. Have a great rest of the weekend. I hope everyone had a nice weekend. The weather was so beautiful for doing outdoor things. It was a tough weekend for us. My stepmom passed away on Saturday and it is so tough to be 6 hours away. With the Covid, we will not be able to be with the extended family. She was a wonderful woman and we will cherish the memories.
The kids will be starting gym this week. We will be first at 8:30 in the morning. It may be cool out there. Please have the kids dress appropriately. The new spelling words have been posted on the spelling page and Wonders reading will be Unit 1 week 5. We have been introduced to division. Don't worry if the kids aren't grasping the concept right away. We will be going back to it. Keep up the good work on ixl and reading counts. The kids have been doing a fantastic job at everything. Have a great week. Happy day off if you at home on Monday. Mr. Mud Happy weekend everyone. I can't believe we are already into October, my favorite month of the year. Colors, football, Halloween and sweatshirts!
The kids had another great week. They are getting so good with the new routine and they have adjusted so nicely. They have been very responsible for their work papers and handing in all of their finished products. The kids did an awesome job on their Aimsweb reading test. They worked very hard and stayed focused. This week in Wonders reading, we are on Unit one, week 4. In math, we are introducing multiplication and division by sharing groups. The first step in learning the times tables. I am very proud of all the kids who have been working hard at ixl, the new math program. I am getting notices that the kids have answered thousands of questions since I introduced it last week. Remember to log in under Clever. Then always go to Recommendations. Next go to the gold star and click to see what work Mr. Mud has put in for the kids. I like to see each skill completed to one hundred percent. The kids earn all kinds of awards along the way. If they have finished all of my work, they may step into the arena and go on forever. They get their choice of questions and if it's too hard, they simply click....I don't know this yet! Keep up the great work everyone. Remember to gauge your days at home just like you were in school. Just follow an agenda like we do in school. Do some work, have a snack, go out to play. Do some more work, have lunch, go out and play. Read for twenty minutes, do a reading counts test and explore ixl. Space out your day and do your best work. Have a good rest of the weekend. Get out there and enjoy the beautiful weather. What???? No Patriots game??? There goes my Sunday. See you on Monday and Tuesday, guys. Mr. Mud |
I Believe...Let the kids be kids. Every child has a strength. It is up to the teacher to find it or tap it so they can work to their highest potential. I tend to set the bar very high. Lifetime memories should be made in the classroom and at school. NBCS should be a place where kids enter happy and go home with a smile on their face. I want my kids getting up in the morning begging to go to school! Archives
