Happy Sunday everyone. I hope you are all having a great weekend. Yesterday we went to Gould Hill and took a ride to Peterborough. I think I ate too many apple cider doughnuts!!!! The colors were beautiful. I am staying home today doing lots of outside work, decorating for October, and finishing up the new bathroom floor upstairs.
This week will be pretty routine. We will be taking our Aimsweb reading test on Wednesday and Thursday at 11:15. I know you guys are going to do awesome. You rocked the Aimsweb math test. The spelling words are posted on the spelling page for this week. Please remember to keep the letter handy that I gave you with all of the log ins. Don't forget about your reading counts tests at home if you get a spare 20 minutes. Then just tell me and we will put up a star when you come in to school. Remember after you pass five tests in a row you get to pick a prize out of the Pirate's Chest. We will also do the spelling/journal raffle this week. I will be introducing the iXL math program to you this week and I will show you how to log into that, also. We are really excited about this program. I think you guys will really like it. Please remember to bring back your yellow sheet for music this week. I hope you all are having a great weekend with your families. I will see you this week. It is hard to believe that the first of October is Thursday. Have a great day everyone. Mr. Mud Here is a link for Mrs. Charles and Mrs. Bradley at the school library. Please check it out. The kids will take a little survey and then they will be able to take books home when they are delivered to the classroom.
https://forms.gle/ZhruUv4j9fdNAPRf8 Hey everybody. I hope you all had a great weekend. We were dog sitting for my son and we took Blue on a hike and went out to eat at Kimball's Farm in Jaffrey. I also went 18 miles on my bike. Fall is my favorite season.
Our first two days of school were really fun. The kids had a blast and you could tell they were so excited to be back. I was excited too. We found out lots of things about each other. I am so happy to be with the kids again. I can't wait to teach these awesome third graders. It will take a few weeks to get used to the new routine, but I know Mud's class has got this! I love their positive attitudes and their love of school already! We will start Math and Reading this week. Please be on the lookout every night for the assignment book and various other materials that the kids will be bringing home. Sometimes they may bring their reading book home or their math journal home. They will sometimes have pencil and paper work. It is important that they remember their materials for the next day. We will take about responsibility and organization in class. The spelling words for the week will always be posted on this site on the spelling page by Sunday evening. We will work with the words all week and have a spelling test on Friday during Zoom class. I will be setting up Connect Ed this week so the kids can get on Everyday math and Wonders reading at home through our "nbcshome" site. They go to library learning commons. Then go to the red house that says Connect Ed and then click on David Mudrick's class.Look for the soccer ball. They will then put in their password(I will have them taped to the inside of their assignment books). They will probably remember from last year. It involves a number, a fruit, and a shape. I will take them through it in class also. We also have to teach the third graders about Google Classroom. They did the See Saw platform last year and it is totally different for them. We will work on this the next two weeks. Cohort A will have regular school work to do at home for Tuesday and Thursday and Friday. Cohort B will have regular work to do at home for Wednesday, Friday and Monday. On Fridays at 9:00am we will have Zoom class. Please text me or call me if you have any questions. I am a night owl so do not worry about calling in the evening. It is going to be an amazing year! i can't think of any other better place to be except in school with these outstanding third graders! Have a great week everyone. |
I Believe...Let the kids be kids. Every child has a strength. It is up to the teacher to find it or tap it so they can work to their highest potential. I tend to set the bar very high. Lifetime memories should be made in the classroom and at school. NBCS should be a place where kids enter happy and go home with a smile on their face. I want my kids getting up in the morning begging to go to school! Archives
