Happy weekend everyone.I hope you are all enjoying the warm weather. Looks like November, feels like August!
We had a great class on Friday. The kids were amazing. I love it when we can all get together for class on Friday. Remember we will have a spelling test this Friday on the words that are listed on this web site on the spelling page. We will finish up Unit 2-week 3 this week in Wonders. Our story is about voting. Very appropriate for this week. We have had lots of discussions on the presidential race and the Electoral College. I tried to keep it simple so the kids would have a basic understanding of the process. In math we are continuing our introduction to division. We start off by using arrays and drawing pictures. I always tell the kids to draw a picture if they are in doubt of how to solve a problem. We have started our Native American unit. The kids are very excited. They all belong to a certain group, and they all have Native American names. We made our shields and our Indian acrostics. It is a shame that we can't go to the Indian Museum in Warner this year. If you ever get the opportunity to go there, please visit. We have discussed the hands-on project that is due on November 30th. The kids seem very excited and most of them have great ideas. I will be sending out a letter this week as a reminder. Remember to have fun with it. It is not meant to stress anyone out! If you still need an idea, let me know. Again, there are some great ideas on google images for third grade Native American projects. I can't wait to see what the kids come up with. On Monday, we will be starting Art for our special. Don't forget to send back library books so the kids can get new ones. I have also entered some new skills in IXL. Please have the kids check it out and don't forget about reading counts. Please remember there is no school on Wednesday as we celebrate Veteran's day. Have a great Sunday and a wonderful weekend. Comments are closed.

I Believe...Let the kids be kids. Every child has a strength. It is up to the teacher to find it or tap it so they can work to their highest potential. I tend to set the bar very high. Lifetime memories should be made in the classroom and at school. NBCS should be a place where kids enter happy and go home with a smile on their face. I want my kids getting up in the morning begging to go to school! Archives
