Happy Sunday everyone. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I'm sure it was different than the ones we are used to, but there is still a lot to be thankful for.I hope the rain didn't dampen anyone's plans for outside activities. We were out on the screened porch which I now have covered with clear plastic sheeting. A little portable heater and that did the trick. The four of us were very comfortable. The weather has been beautiful the last three days. No snow in sight.
All the rooms in the house are being magically transformed to the Christmas theme. It takes about 4 days to complete it all. We literally have a tree in every room! Mrs. Mud's village is beautiful! This is my favorite time of the year! This week we will be starting Wonders Unit 3-week 1. We will be concentrating on folktales. The new spelling words are posted on the spelling page. In math, we are moving on to unit 3. The kids did a great job on their unit 2 assessments. Keep studying those 2's, 5's and 10's times tables. Unit 3 will focus on division and multiplication. In science, we continue our weather unit and in social studies we are about halfway through our Native American unit. Please don't forget that the Native American projects are due on Monday and Tuesday of this week. I can't wait to see all of the projects. The kids have learned so much so far about the Native Americans. For our Christmas parties, I would like to have a gift exchange for the kids. They will pick a name and then buy a present for that child. Please wrap the present and put to who it is for and leave who it is from blank. We will get three guesses at the parties to see if they can guess their giver. We will see who can keep a secret the longest! If the kids want to drop little hints or give little treats along the way, that even makes it more fun. Our parties will be held the 22nd and the 23rd. I will see what the kids want to do for food and drinks. Don't forget that Wednesday the 23rd will be an early release day. I will be in touch with more information on the parties. Please don't forget that this Friday, December 4th, is a no school day. There will be no zoom class. Have a great Sunday. Get out there and enjoy the beautiful weather. We are heading to Meredith for the afternoon. Enjoy the Pat's game at 1:00. Comments are closed.

I Believe...Let the kids be kids. Every child has a strength. It is up to the teacher to find it or tap it so they can work to their highest potential. I tend to set the bar very high. Lifetime memories should be made in the classroom and at school. NBCS should be a place where kids enter happy and go home with a smile on their face. I want my kids getting up in the morning begging to go to school! Archives
