Hey Everyone,
I hope you are all enjoying the weekend. There is a frost up here on the Mud Hill. Mrs. Mud just threatened to start bringing up the Christmas decorations. Her decorating is a week long process. I think I will be gone for the day! I already have the outside all decorated. This week will be a normal week. Well, normal in the sense that this is as normal as it gets for now! In Wonders, we will be working on Unit 2 week 4. The spelling words are posted on the spelling page. They are very tricky this week. We will have a test on Friday. In Math, we are working on division and multiplication. Remember this is just an introduction to both operations. The kids should be working on 2's, 5's and 10's multiplication facts. We are all working very hard at two step word problems involving all four operations. Please remember to check out "IXL". I have put some new skills in there. Also, please don't forget about Reading Counts tests. After 5 passed tests in a row the kids get to pick out a prize. Library books with red dots on the binder are all in Reading Counts. Most of our Wonders stories are on there also. In language arts, we are working very hard on remembering to capitalize proper nouns and the beginnings of sentences. The kids are doing a great job on their journals which is one of my favorite assignments. I have parents with kids in college who still share their journals together when the kids are home for the holidays. Please ask the kids about their Native American acrostics. They worked very hard on those. They make a fine November bulletin board. In science, we are working on a weather unit. We discuss the weather every morning and we will begin to talk about the different types of clouds. We are learning so much about Native Americans. We are almost finished with the Woodland Indians and we will next move onto the Plains Indians. It sounds like the kids have some good ideas about their projects. Remember they will be due on November 30th and December 1st. I have decided to set the projects up in the gym(after we share them in class) and that way classes can go down at their own convenience and view all the projects and social distance safely. I will be sending home a sheet with some resources that are available on the computer. The necessary passwords will be there for the kids. Mostly for research purposes. Remember that the 25th of November on Wednesday is an early dismissal. The kids will be dismissed at 12:00. Mud's Munchkins have been doing a great job. They come in the door in the morning and they are all smiles. I can see it in their eyes! ha ha. They have remained healthy and they are so good at following the rules. Keep up the good work so we will be able to remain in school. Have a great Sunday everyone. I am being called away to carry boxes up from the basement. Yikes! A late Patriot's game. Should be a good one though. Have a great week everyone. Comments are closed.

I Believe...Let the kids be kids. Every child has a strength. It is up to the teacher to find it or tap it so they can work to their highest potential. I tend to set the bar very high. Lifetime memories should be made in the classroom and at school. NBCS should be a place where kids enter happy and go home with a smile on their face. I want my kids getting up in the morning begging to go to school! Archives
