Happy June to all. It is hard to believe that we only have about 15 school days left to the year. We are all very sad in Mud's class.
This week we are doing small research projects on whales. We will do research, write a report, and share out to the class. Please do not forget to have the kids dress in layers for the whale watch on Friday. We will arrive back at school around 4:30. Right now the weather looks nice, but cool. Remember it is sometimes 20 degrees cooler 45 miles out into the ocean. The kids will need a snack and a lunch. they do serve all kinds of snacks and drinks on the boat. There are also limited souvenirs for sale on the boat. If you are chaperoning, it will be up to you to drive or to car pool with someone. There will be room for two or three chaperones on the bus. I will have directions for GPS's. The kids are all looking forward to the trip. We are working very hard on the states and their capitals. On our first capital test I was so impressed. We had 9 kids get all 50 already. The others are very close. Kids should be decorating a state box at home. They will need to put two or three things in the box from their state. they have lots of ideas. I found some state stuff this weekend at the flea markets that I will share with the kids. We are on the last unit of Wonders Reading, and we are also on the last unit of Wonders Math. Comments are closed.

I Believe...Let the kids be kids. Every child has a strength. It is up to the teacher to find it or tap it so they can work to their highest potential. I tend to set the bar very high. Lifetime memories should be made in the classroom and at school. NBCS should be a place where kids enter happy and go home with a smile on their face. I want my kids getting up in the morning begging to go to school! Archives
