Happy June 1st everyone. I just can't believe we only have 12 days of school left. It has been one great year.
The last project of the year will be a state box that the kids will need to make at home. Please keep it smaller than desk top. Kids can decorate the outside of the box with things from their state. I have given them lots of ideas. Inside the box, the kids will need to put three things from their state. We have talked about this also. The boxes will be due on the 13th of June, Thursday. The kids did a great job on their first capital test. I was wowed by a lot of them. Thank you to those who studied hard. We will do it again on Thursday afternoon. Break out those flash cards this week. The whale watch will be this Friday. There will be room for three or four chaperones on the bus. I would like to have someone drive with a larger vehicle so parents can carpool. That way we don't have 20 cars following the bus. If you are willing to drive please let me know. We will set up the cars with riders on the morning of the trip. Chaperones and kids will need to be in the classroom by 8:00. WE would like to leave by 8:15. All kids must ride the bus back and forth unless you have written permission from the office. We should be back to school at 4:30 if traffic goes well. Please watch the weather. Even though it says 70 degrees on shore, it is always 25 degrees cooler 40 miles out. It is best to dress in layers. There is food on the boat, snacks and drinks. Keep your fingers crossed for the whales to be out and about. We will be finishing up unit 7 in math, and we are in the last unit of Wonders for reading. We are working on our state folders and we will study whales all week. The kids will research a whale in class and write a report to share with the class. Please see the calendar page because there is a lot going on the last couple of weeks. Have a great week everyone. Comments are closed.

I Believe...Let the kids be kids. Every child has a strength. It is up to the teacher to find it or tap it so they can work to their highest potential. I tend to set the bar very high. Lifetime memories should be made in the classroom and at school. NBCS should be a place where kids enter happy and go home with a smile on their face. I want my kids getting up in the morning begging to go to school! Archives
