Hello everyone. I hope you all have a great weekend. Happy Easter to you all. Enjoy the time with your families and your Easter egg hunts.
Monday will be the first day back with both cohorts together. I am very excited about this and I know the kids are too. It may take a few days to iron out all of the kinks, but we will mange. The room will look a little bit different with double the desks. We will still have snack in the classroom, but half of the class will go to the cafeteria for lunch. That way we can be eating in both places six feet apart. Walkers will now be dismissed at 2:00 and then bus students. Please put the green name tags in your car for identification purposes. ( Only for parents who pick up and drop off daily ). Please have the kids wear school colors on Monday for Spirit Day as we welcome everyone back. Blue, yellow or anything with NBCS logo. Please make sure the kids have their math journals and their Communities books in their backpacks. We will now do GROW in class. The kids will be asked to read each night, and you will probably see one home link coming home for homework. Mr. Mud is not a big homework person. The kids work hard enough during the day. I will put the new spelling words on this website every weekend so kids can get a peak before our practice test on Mondays. No more work packets!!! Yippee! It looks like we will be back in school 5 days a week starting on the 19th of April according to the Governor. At least that's what's happening as of today. That means only two more zoom classes. After that, we will have our spelling tests in class on Fridays. This week in Wonders, we will be on Unit 5 week 4. It is historical fiction. In math, we are starting unit 6. This will be all kinds of strategies for all the operations. Adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing. Keep studying those multiplication facts at home. We are learning to write our first names in cursive. Once we learn the first names, I would like to see the kids writing their name in cursive daily. We will start rolling out the presidents now that we have more time. I'm sure the kids told you about Bob the Bunny. He is visiting us for the month of April. Bob, with the help of some others really turned our room upside down for April Fool's Day. It was quite a work of art. Mr. Bridle and I have set a trap for Bob. I will keep you posted on any new updates or changes. Remember to order hot lunch the night before so the kids will get their lunch in school. There will be a lot more lunches to fix now here at school. I am looking forward to seeing all of the Mud's Munchkins together in class on Monday. It is really like the first day of school. I'm sure I won't get any sleep on Sunday night. Have a great rest of the weekend. Take care and be safe. We want to remain in school until the end of the year. Bob the Bunny says Happy Easter!!! I Believe...Let the kids be kids. Every child has a strength. It is up to the teacher to find it or tap it so they can work to their highest potential. I tend to set the bar very high. Lifetime memories should be made in the classroom and at school. NBCS should be a place where kids enter happy and go home with a smile on their face. I want my kids getting up in the morning begging to go to school! Archives
