Happy weekend everyone. Today is Sunday the 19th and it is beautiful! A perfect day for a hike, a bike ride, a trip to the beach or the Patriot's game at 1:00.
We had a great first full week of school. We are now into a routine and the kids are getting adjusted very nicely. We all did a great job on our first formal spelling test. This week's words are listed on the spelling page of this website. This week in Wonders, we will be reading , "Gary The Dreamer". Our genre is narrative nonfiction. We will have a comprehension and vocabulary test on Friday. In math, we are reviewing addition and subtraction. We are also working on time, money and rounding off numbers. Remember, we have picked a date for Michaelmas. It will be the 15th of October and it will be held outside. It sounds like the kids have some nice crafts being worked on already. Mrs. Mud has three projects going. I will not see the dining room table until October 14th!! This week on Monday and Tuesday, we will take our Aimsweb assessment. This assessment is given three times a year. The kids are assessed in math and reading. Our time is 8:10-9:30. Please encourage the kids to do their best. I know they will. We continue to be in first place in the Fun Run challenge. Thank you so much for the support. This weekend there is a special challenge for a big bonus prize. Please check it out if you choose to do so. Next Friday we will do our run in the afternoon. Please remember that Monday is picture day. Our time is at 11:15. All of the kids will have their picture taken. We will also take a class picture and everyone will receive one. I hope to see everyone on Tuesday at 6:00 in the classroom. It will be a half an hour presentation and I will be able to answer all of your questions. It will be nice to meet everyone. Thanks for all you do at home to make it better for the kids in class. The Dunking Doughnuts are awesome. Get out there and enjoy this beautiful day. Have a great rest of the weekend. Comments are closed.

I Believe...Let the kids be kids. Every child has a strength. It is up to the teacher to find it or tap it so they can work to their highest potential. I tend to set the bar very high. Lifetime memories should be made in the classroom and at school. NBCS should be a place where kids enter happy and go home with a smile on their face. I want my kids getting up in the morning begging to go to school! Archives
