The big day is coming up! Our presidential reception will be held in the music room on Friday, May 25, at 1:00. Please have the kids bring their costumes on a hanger or in a bag with their name on it. Please don't worry about make-up and powder for gray hair. After the kid's speeches, we will sample some foods of the presidents. make sure to sample the Presidential Punch and the Eisenhower clam dip. Everyone is welcome to attend. Our unit is finished and we are now in the process of writing our short speeches. The kids have learned so much about the history of our country and I am very proud of all of them. We have had 5 kids name the presidents in order and that is something I don't think I can even do. Congratulations to those guys. Amazing! Hope to see you all there on Friday.
The Whale Watch permission form will be coming home on Monday. Remember, you can only be a chaperone if you have been finger printed and you are on the updated list. Let's hope for a nice day for the kids and the whales. Sometimes the swells can be very rough and it isn't a trip for the sea weary! We will leave as close to 8:15 as possible and kids will need to be picked up at 4:30. Please don't forget to put a cell number on the permission form in case we need to get in touch with you. Another bit of good news. We will be in the community meeting with our first grade buddies on Thursday, May 24th. We have been practicing very hard and I hope you can all come to see us. It is a nice way to wrap up the year with our buddies. I don't know what time we will be on, but the whole meeting usually takes about an hour. Hope you can join us. We will be taking our final Aimsweb tests this week. We will follow the regular plans for Wonders reading and Wonders math. Our new spelling words are posted on the spelling page. Have a good week everyone. See you on Thursday and Friday!!! Comments are closed.

I Believe...Let the kids be kids. Every child has a strength. It is up to the teacher to find it or tap it so they can work to their highest potential. I tend to set the bar very high. Lifetime memories should be made in the classroom and at school. NBCS should be a place where kids enter happy and go home with a smile on their face. I want my kids getting up in the morning begging to go to school! Archives
