Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone. I hope you are having a great weekend. The corned beef and cabbage is boiling away on the stove.
Thank you to all who made our PI Day a huge success. The kids had a blast sampling all of those delicious pies. In the afternoon, we played, Pie in the Face. What fun that was. Miss Underwood and Mr. Bridle even joined in. I think my picture is on NBCS happenings with whipped cream all over my face. In math, the kids are doing a great job on their fast math. I am very proud of them. We are continuing the study of fractions also. In reading, we are starting Unit 4, week 3. Our genre this week is Expository Text. We will be studying animals and their challenges to adapt to the environment. We just finished up our second big writing project of the year. This was opinion writing. The kids worked very hard on it. In science, we are working on our engineering design unit. So far we have made hoppers and floating rafts. We are having fun with trial and error. Our presidential unit is in full swing and the kids are really enjoying that too. I love how the kids are researching on their own in the classroom if they have free time in the morning. They are going to be so knowledgeable about history and the presidents and first ladies. I hope to see you at Math Night which will take place on Tuesday the 19th at 6 to 7 o'clock. Mrs Howe and I will be set up in her room with math games for third and fourth grade. Sounds like fun. We have six kids in the Third grade Thunder going to Community Meeting on March 28th. That is very exciting. Have a great week everyone! Comments are closed.

I Believe...Let the kids be kids. Every child has a strength. It is up to the teacher to find it or tap it so they can work to their highest potential. I tend to set the bar very high. Lifetime memories should be made in the classroom and at school. NBCS should be a place where kids enter happy and go home with a smile on their face. I want my kids getting up in the morning begging to go to school! Archives
