Happy Mother's Day to all. I hope you enjoy the day. The kids worked very hard on their gifts for you. Enjoy!
Thanks to all of the parents who came and helped us out for the whale presentation. It was very impressive and the kids loved it. We will surely have them back next year. This week we will be working hard to finish up the presidential unit. We will be preparing for our speeches. The Reception will take place on Friday at 1:00 on May 25th in the music room. We will continue with the same Wonders reading unit as last week. We will also be working with the same spelling words. In math, we are working hard on fractions and comparing them to whole numbers. The kids are doing an excellent job on their fast math. They love doing it. On Monday, we will start our final graded writing piece for the year. I will model it on Monday and then the kids will work on a rough draft and a final draft. Last week, we worked with the Artist in Residence to repair the Native American dwellings up on the hill that were vandalized. Mark could not believe that the class constructed two tepees in less than an hour. Go Radsox. What a team. It is hard to believe that we only have 28 days of school left. Have a great week everybody. I Believe...Let the kids be kids. Every child has a strength. It is up to the teacher to find it or tap it so they can work to their highest potential. I tend to set the bar very high. Lifetime memories should be made in the classroom and at school. NBCS should be a place where kids enter happy and go home with a smile on their face. I want my kids getting up in the morning begging to go to school! Archives
