The After Christmas party was amazing. Thank you everyone for sending in food and drinks. The kids had a blast and they all enjoyed their gifts. Thank you so much for all of my wonderful Christmas gifts. I am one lucky guy. I hope all the kids enjoy their snow globes and their Radsox Snoopy Stockings that Mrs. Mud made for them. Please make sure the kids have the appropriate clothing for outdoor recess. We do go out if the temperature is 14 degrees or above, unless there is a windchill factor. It would be nice to have an extra pair of slippers or shoes in class, so the kids don't have to sit in their wet boots. We are stretching Wonders to another week for lesson 3-3. We will be having a spelling test on Friday on the words listed on the website. We have been working with them for almost two weeks. Hopefully, we will have a "normal" week this week. In math, we continue to talk about measurement and geometric shapes. We will begin our winter Aimsweb assessments this week also. The kids will be assessed in Math and reading. I hope everyone had a safe and eventful snow day. So now....wait for it... we will have our After Christmas Party at 11:00 on Friday. Please send in what you can if you were signed up, and we will make the best of it. Skiing has been cancelled for tomorrow also. We have decided to have our After-Christmas Party on Thursday at 10:30. If you signed up for something, hopefully you can still help us out. I have all the paper goods. Please feel free to join us. Please have the kids bring their presents for the gift exchange if they haven't done so yet. If school is cancelled because of snow, I will get back to everybody once again. It was good to see everyone today. What a great time we had sharing vacation stories. We are starting off with Wonders this week. We are back to normal spelling words which you can find on the spelling words page. In math, we will be talking about measuring and geometric shapes. Please have the kids start memorizing their multiplication facts. We will make study books in school. Remember there is no school on Monday the 15th for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. I Believe...Let the kids be kids. Every child has a strength. It is up to the teacher to find it or tap it so they can work to their highest potential. I tend to set the bar very high. Lifetime memories should be made in the classroom and at school. NBCS should be a place where kids enter happy and go home with a smile on their face. I want my kids getting up in the morning begging to go to school! Archives
